Overall it was a good weekend.

1. The Hannah Montana tickets didn't work out... they must have sold out in five minutes and I wasn't on the lucky list.

2. UK won against Louisville (happy dance) - we had a few friends over and all I can say is it is a good thing that we don't have any neighbors that live close.

Today is fun Friday but it also comes with a lesson.

My daughter like millions of other tweens and teens loves Hannah Montana. She is going on a concert tour in the fall. I decided that I would surprise her and try to get tickets for a concert in Lexington on December the 12th. As I was doing my research I found that tickets weren't yet on sale for the concert there but you could buy pre-sale tickets if you were in her fan club. So I venture to her fan club and find out that to join you have to pay $30 for the year... of course I join but I find after I joined I find out that the pre-sale tickets are sold out. I wonder how many thousands / hundreds of thousands of folks have joined the 'club' because of the tickets.

I found out later from Haley that in her latest CD had been an offer for a free month in the club.

Some superb marketing if you ask me, and yes I'll be poised on the ticket master site on Sat. and hopefully I'll get a ticket (wish me luck).

I love the fall.

First there is football. College football or pro it doesn't matter. I enjoy watching them all. I'm really glad I have a dvd recorder... otherwise I might miss some of the late night games. I'm no night owl and like to do most of my best work in the moring. That is kind of odd coming from someone that worked the nightshift (7pm to 7am) for five or so years.

The new tv lineup... finally the reruns are over. Although lately cable has been making the summer not so bad with some really good shows. Some I'm looking forward to are Heroes and The Bionic Woman. The Heroes DVD I got had a trailer for The Bionic Woman and it does look good. Hopefully 24 will be better this year than last.... when you can tell what is going to happen, before it happens it's time to mix things up.

From the forecast it looks like me may actually get some cooler weather as well, from highs in the mid 90's to the 70's.

Yesterday we had a power outage... it wouldn't have been so bad but it was 100+ in the shade and I had work falling of my desk. So short and sweet today - next weekend plan to take some time off. If you don't have a 3 day weekend then why not make is so you can have 3 days off. You don't have to go anywhere just spend some time with your family and doing things that you've wanted to do for a while but have been putting off.

A DVD that I'm pretty excited about comes out next week too - I think I'll spend some time watching that with Lisa and Haley (the DVD is "Heroes").

Have some fun this weekend too - remember even God rested on the 7th day.
